A year ago, American Idol voters impressed me with their ability to sort out the deserving from the undeserving when it came time to select finalists.
For the most part, they did it again Thursday night.
American Idol whittles it’s field of 20 to a top 10 Thursday night.
Though I don’t think anyone will be surprised if the judges add a wild card pick or two.
First off, before we get to the singers, kudos to the Idol judges.
The new panel went live for the first time Tuesday night. And passed with flying colors.
We have super voting on American Idol for the first time ever.
We have experts predicting a girl will win Season 12.
And I’m not talking about the judges.
Ten female singers. Just five spots in the finals.
That’s the scenario facing the American Idol ladies on Tuesday when they square off in a two-hour show.

Specifically, the judges’ decision to grant Zoanette Johnson a spot in the semifinals.
And so the gals’ semifinals are set on American Idol.
Wednesday night, Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Aubrey Cleland, Breanna Steer and Zoanette Johnson (ugh!) advanced.
The American Idol ladies were very good a week ago.
Take a look at tonight’s lineup, and you have to think there’s another night of excellent performances ahead.
