Radio station WGTY 107.7 announced the performers for the Great Country Radio Stage at the York Fair Tuesday morning.
And it’s great news for American Idol fans.
Two former Idol contestants will be performing — Kristy Lee Cook from Season 7 at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, and Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina on Thursday, Sept. 12. Canaan Smith will open for her at 6:15 p.m.
The country concerts will be held nightly during the fair’s run from Sept. 6 to Sept. 15, and they’re free with the cost of admission to the fair.
Other performers coming, courtesy of WGTY, include Katie Armiger, Jon Pardi, Joel Crouse, Tyler Farr, Drake White, Rachel Farley, Charlie Worsham, Dakota Bradley, Parmalee and Love and Theft.
Local singers Colt Wilbur and Lindsey Erin will also take the stage for special 3 p.m. shows. For the complete lineup, head here.
The Sept. 12 show will mark Lauren Alaina’s fourth appearance in York and her second at the fair. She recently released “Barefoot and Buckwild,” the lead single from her upcoming sophomore album.
Kristy Lee, who finished seventh back in Season 7, released her first single under Broken Bow Records, “Airborne Ranger Infantry,” in October. She’s working on her first album under that label.
For those who like looking back …
