Kelly Clarkson performs at inauguration (photo gallery)

Kelly Clarkson performed a soaring rendition of “My Country ‘Tis Of Three” at President Barack Obama’s inauguration Monday afternoon.

Also performing during the ceremony were James Taylor and Beyonce.

Kelly’s performance got rave reviews from other former contestants.

Tweeted Melinda Doolittle: “Sing @kelly_clarkson!!!!!! Yes ma’am! That’s what I’m talking about!”

And Michael Johns: “How farking good is Kelly Clarkson!!! What a vocal she just dropped.”

Kelly followed up with this Tweet about the experience: Wow ….I was incredibly nervous and cold ha! I just wanna officially thank President Obama for opening for me haha! Just kidding

Another former Idol contestant, Jennifer Hudson, is scheduled to perform at one of tonight’s inaugural balls.
